Dry Rub BBQ Crock Pot Roast

This is the original recipe

I cut up 2 onions and layer in the bottom of the crock pot

I place a frozen beef chuck roast on top of the onions

I rub with my spice mixture #1

I use:

2 teaspoons of chili power (I love gebharts)

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

3 teaspoons of paprika

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of black pepper

½ teaspoon of cumin

The alternative I do for a conventional roast:

I layer on cut up into chucks of potatoes and chucky cut or baby carrot with ½ onion slice up

I add salt and pepper to this bottom layer

I use spice mixture #2

I use ½ teaspoon on onion powder

½ teaspoon of garlic powder (eliminate if want to add garlic to the bottom layer)

½ teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of black pepper

1 teaspoon of paprika for a smoky taste

½ teaspoon of dry mustard
